LED Cost of Ownership - Changing Son High Bay to LED Lighting

This case study concerns a small warehouse operation running at 24 Hours, 7 days a week.  

The clients requirements were simple:

  • Improve Health & Safety by increasing the light level
  • Use White Light making it easier for workers to read the racking labels
  • Reduce Energy Costs
  • Reduce Maintenance Costs 

Our initial approach was to develop the scheme around the existing fitting locations. The existing layout and spacings steered us towards the Haydos Linear Range as the photometry is designed perfectly for mounting between racking at a high level.

Design Summary

The use of a White 4000K LED Light source instantly provided a fresh new look to the whole space which resolved all issues surrounding Health & Safety along with solving the picking error problems the client was experiencing from poor lighting across the racking face or vertical plane.  Our approach to the design was more focused on the uniformity of the light.  Light levels do not have to be intense when they are correctly balanced.
